Banks close shop in Awka over frequent armed-robbery attacks

We always hear the security high command in Nigeria talking tough, and boasting about how the environment within their various areas of operation is "safe and sound", but how does one explain a situation in the Anambra state capital "Awka" whereby retail bank branches have resorted to "not opening" for the day's business, due to repeated bank robberies? If it is bad enough for local banks to refuse opening for trade, then I think it is only fair we conclude that "the relevant authorities have failed in the duty of providing adequate security locally"......
